„More and more citizens have begun to perceive the Prosecutor’s Office as a political body. It sounds like a political body, so its actions in terms of its competences in the judiciary are beginning to fade. The lack of separation of powers threatens our national security. The bigger problem is that our society has failed to grow politically and make the transition to statehood.“
This was commented by the expert on national security issues and former employee of the National Security Service Nikolay Markov to „BNR“. He is of the opinion that the records of the Prime Minister and the head of state show that they are in some dependence.
There is a lack of authentic political leadership in the world, but in our country this is quite evident, Markov commented. According to him, this is a big vacuum that cannot be overcome. According to him, the political and economic processes are a reflection of international interests, which reflect on the Bulgarian state. The expert gives an example with GERB, which are dependent on the EPP, which dominates the EC.
„In this sense, the economic interests of this lobby are reflected in Bulgaria. Borissov remained in power to complete the „Turkish Stream“ strategic project, because strategic interests are above all.“
It is not correct to look at interstate relations, Markov said, adding that it is expert to monitor the actions of specific politicians who represent the states and specific policies behind certain lobbies. He also commented on the topic of the elections – according to him, those that are held in our country for over 20 years do not depend entirely on the vote of the Bulgarians.
„This system, which has managed to establish itself, has hegemony over the electoral process, over manipulation. A crime replaces the real vote of the citizens on a certain technology, which is in full power of those who have the power to control things… This does not happen without the consent of European institutions, which are represented in Sofia by foundations. The bad thing is that the public reaction to corruption, to the lack of separation of powers, to the judicial system, does not reflect on these state institutions.“
The new political configuration is already taking shape and it will be right-wing, Markov predicted, adding that it has already been agreed.
„The government will be on the right, the GERB party will be an essential part, but not the leading one. The coalition will be „Democratic Bulgaria“ – GERB – Slavi Trifonov.“
Boyko Borissov no longer wants to rule, but wants to ensure his security, „because his life is physically in danger,“ Markov said, explaining: „After all the things he has done, he is no longer needed. If he has to take all the blame, it happens either with a court and a prison, or the other way around. His only right move is the presidency, which can guarantee him peace of mind. It would also be a reward for what he has done.“
