„At no time have we considered measures to close cities. I mean, that’s a lie. I want to reassure all Bulgarian citizens that we do not intend to introduce this type of measures. Neither barriers nor checkpoints are bought. These are lies that aim to destabilize people’s psyches.“
This was announced by the Minister of Health – Prof. Kostadin Angelov on the air of „bTV“. According to him, when the epidemic started, very little was known about it, there was scarce and contradictory information in the scientific community and the authorities worked in a state of ignorance. To date, however, things have been under control and much was known about the course of the infection.
„In Bulgaria it is absolutely controlled. There is no health crisis in Bulgaria to date. There is no pressure on the system.“
„The health care system has been prepared in terms of equipment, disinfectants for months. At the moment, the purchase of additional funds for all employees on the first line is forthcoming. All this is happening thanks to the people on the front line, they are overtired. Such conspiracies and questions to these people, our constant criticism further discourages them. We must support the Bulgarian doctors and nurses.“
TheMinister of Health also denied reports that the government had paid people to say they were infected with COVID-19.
„It’s also a lie. Many celebrities have been in hospitals, are they part of the conspiracy theory?“
Prof. Kostadin Angelov called on people not to forget that the virus exists and that they will have to live with it. He recalled that the parliament had adopted a decision authorizing the European Commission to negotiate and provide a vaccine for all citizens after passing all the tests and when it is registered. The vaccine will be free, the minister added.
„We have separated vulnerable groups, people on the front lines, people over 65 and all citizens with chronic diseases. We have provided enough vaccines for them when it is invented. It is very important for Bulgarian citizens to know that the vaccine will be absolutely safe and harmless. We are going to do a study to understand the attitudes in Bulgarian society. Vaccine companies in the EU are at the same stage as the Russian vaccine. It has not passed the third phase of the test, the news published in the media is not in the scientific field.“
