Teachers’ salaries should currently be 125% of the national average wage. This was said by the Minister of Education and Science prof. Galin Tsokov told the media in Burgas, where he is to give a public lecture on “Education 5.0” to students of the Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov University.
He revealed that the Ministry of Education and Science (MES) has proposed to the Finance Ministry and the government that teachers’ salaries should be 130% of the national average. Tsokov explained that in absolute terms this means between 15 and 20% increase in salaries.
During the lecture, Minister Tsokov is expected to present some of the latest developments in the development of education in Europe and the world and to comment on the main challenges facing the Bulgarian education system. Students will be able to participate and ask their questions and comments on the topic.
With his lecture prof. Tsokov will take part in the initiative “One Academic Hour” of Assoc. Krasimira Dimitrova, Director of the Department for Qualification and Professional Development of Teaching Professionals. The Rector of the University prof. Hristo Bozov will also take part in the event.
