BSP leader Cornelia Ninova has demanded that the BSP for Bulgaria secessionists leave parliament as well. In front of journalists in the National Assembly, she made a deliberate statement on the subject, with all the deputies from the coalition behind her.
“We stand before you in full composition as a parliamentary group on the occasion of the six colleagues who left the parliamentary group, five of them and the party. We will not evaluate their work in the BSP – for the leaders of this group the evaluation was given by the party on September 12 in the most democratic way. In a direct democracy with a direct election of a chairman, Mr. Zhablyanov received 760 votes out of 53,795, and Mr. Yankov – 1,017. We think that this is a definite assessment of their work so far, given by the party. The next assessment was received by the Congress, where all six were not elected members of the National Council by nearly 1,000 delegates”, said Ninova.
She was adamant that the motives of the six to leave the group were not values, but power. Ninova stressed that while they were in the Executive Bureau and the National Council, they did not see any differences with the party and stood in it. And now that they are no longer in leadership positions, they are leaving. Here is what she said:
“We are sure that if they had been elected members of the National Council, they would not have done so. This behavior is offensive to the tens of thousands of socialists in the country who believe in the ideas, are members of the party, work for years in the name of success, selflessly and without fighting only for positions. The claim that they will henceforth be independent MPs to represent their constituents and not lie to their expectations is not true. The organizations from the districts from where they were elected deputies today have ruled – they want these deputies to leave immediately. At the moment, they represent no one but themselves.
Ninova was adamant that the breakaways should leave parliament and be replaced by the next in the lists, because they were not elected by a majority. According to her, tens of thousands of BSP members have worked hard to become deputies.”
Ninova also addressed the journalists, urging them to monitor whether the six will vote „for“ the convening of the Grand National Assembly, whether they will provide a quorum for the ruling party and whether they will cast their vote in support of the establishment of an expert cabinet. United Patriots „to succeed in fulfilling their mandate.
