The proposal to significantly increase gambling taxation has not met with support. This was reported on the social network Facebook by the MP from “Democratic Bulgaria” Ivaylo Mirchev. He also posted a photo of a billboard with a sign against gambling.
“We submitted a proposal in the 2025 budget to significantly increase the taxation of gambling. We did not receive support from any of the ruling parties GERB, BSP and ITN”, Mirchev stressed. And added:
“The result – the centres of Bulgarian cities will continue to be full of gambling halls, almost no measures are taken against gambling addiction, the market is divided among a few players who if they can’t buy you they flood you with slop. The result of our ideas: not only were they not accepted by the government, but a series of articles appeared against the authors of the proposals to restrict gambling in Bulgaria.”
