Governer of Veliko Turnovo Prof. Dr. Liubomira Popova organized a special summit to discuss the ownership dispute over the railroad passage crossing the road of Kamen – Draganovo – Dolna Oryahovitsa – Gorna Oryahovitsa – Veliko Tarnovo, announced the municipality of Veliko Turnovo.
In the summit took part the mayor of municipality Dolna Oryahovitsa – Dobromir Dobrev, the mayor of Lyaskovets – Dr. Ivelina Getsova, the director of Regional National Inspection for Construction Control Veliko Turnovo – Eng. Petya Bakalova, as well as the director of Regional Road Control Agency Veliko Turnovo – Ventsislav Angelov.
The railroad overpass is in close proximity to the Gorna Oryahovitsa airport. It’s an old facility that has not been included in the municipality cadastre and is becoming increasingly dangerous. As a result of the ownership dispute, neither Municipality Veliko Turnov nor the regional inspection for road safety can take responsibility for the reconstruction of the overpass.
Along with the ownership issue, the summit discussed the future maintenance of the facility, its current technical condition, the need of safety inspections, its future development, and its eventual temporal closure due to safety concerns.
Regional National Inspection for Construction Control Veliko Turnovo and the regional cadastre of Veliko Turnovo are expected to provide in the near future additional information in regards to the historical ownership of the facility.

“The governor of Veliko Turnovo called a summit in regards to the railroad passage near Gorna Oryahovitsa Airport.
The summit, called by Dr. Lybomira Popova, discussed the ownership dispute and the future maintenance of the railroad passage located at Republican road III-514 Kamen – Draganovo – Dolna Oryahovitsa – Gorna Oryahovitsa – Veliko Tarnovo at km 39 + 321. The summit was attended by representatives of Municipality Veliko Turnovo, incl. by the director of Regional Road Control Agency Veliko Turnovo – Ventsislav Angelov.
