„For a long time, more profit has been made in our country than received. Over 40% of all employees receive a salary of up to BGN 1,000.“
This is what Plamen Dimitrov from the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria stated.
He also cited statistics showing that low-skilled workers are increasing in parallel with the increase in the minimum wage. According to him, the mechanism for its increase should be changed and take into account the data from the current year, not from the previous one, since they are no longer relevant due to serious inflation.
He predicted that an increase of nearly 20% would be introduced, which, according to him, was logical and would enable additional convergence of the incomes of over 1.5 million Bulgarians.
According to him, in the last year, ten countries from the European Union accepted an increase in the minimum wage by more than 20%, and he recalled that similar measures were taken in our country during the years when this was necessary.
