Many students will not be able to study regularly, said Yulian Petrov, Chairman of the Education trade union at the „Podkrepa“ Labor Confederation. He noted that at this stage, again, not all children have entered school.
The union stressed that many students are currently being deprived of access to attendance, especially at the primary stage. He said it is of utmost importance that when everyone is ready, then to enter the class and not piecemeal. In his words, it would have been more logical for the little students to return to the classrooms after the elections. Petrov pointed out:
„At the moment, the picture is very controversial. The trouble is that many students will stay out of the system and will not be covered by regular education, which is the most important and useful for the initial stage. When one teacher deals with students in the classroom, the other students become listeners. A teacher cannot clone in two and work with students who are at home and work with those who are in class at the same time.”
Additional pay is offered for teachers involved in testing children. He indicated that such remuneration is being negotiated for the time being. The trade union has proposed the remuneration to be BGN 100 per month. A response from the Ministry of Education and employer organizations is still awaited. Petrov told „BNR“:
„A large part of the students will stay at home because the Bulgarian teachers and the Bulgarian principals, who gave valuable advice to the two ministers – to education and healthcare – were not heard. They were in a hurry. I don’t want to think that these are any political decisions – to show before the elections.„
Petrov pointed out that in the capital the organization for storage and transportation of waste was very good, which would be applied to the material from the tests.
