„The big question is who will remain Deputy Prime Minister on the other side, given the events and dynamics in „We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria”. As it is evident, the votes for the „incompetent Acad. Denkov“ are getting stronger and the figure of Asen Vassilev is growing more and more and gaining strength at the expense of Acad. Nikolay Denkov, and at the expense of Kiril Petkov“.
This was stated by political scientist Georgi Harizanov, who commented on the approaching rotation in Parliament, in which Maria Gabriel from GERB should take the place of Acad. Nikolay Denkov to the post of Prime Minister.
His expectations are that the process of changing the rulers will be simply formal and will proceed without unnecessary „hysteria and disputes“, as happened during the adoption of the state budget and the constitutional amendments at the end of last year.
Harizanov added that in his opinion „Democratic Bulgaria“ (DB) is the more established political entity compared to its coalition partner „We Continue the Change“. He recalled that Hristo Ivanov’s party rather gives the impression that they „participate forcibly“ in the government, in which only one minister is present.
„There is no strong desire for power, no feeling that they are clinging to this power and this government at all costs.“
In his words, at the end of last year, the DB once again demonstrated this position, having declared their readiness to go into opposition, if the goals for amendments to the Constitution are not correctly fulfilled.
