„We are ready with next year’s budget. The Ministry of Finance has presented the measures planned to maintain the 3% deficit, which is our benchmark to enter the Eurozone.“
This is what Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev said on the occasion of the preparation of the state budget. According to him, the budget cannot be submitted due to the non-functioning Parliament. The budget will be submitted once the political situation is clarified, Glavchev added. In his opinion, it would be best if a regular government is formed, which would then submit the budget for next year. The Prime Minister believes it is risky to submit a budget during an election period because, in such a case, it could be „blown up.“ We are ready for any options, we have presented the measures to the political forces and we are waiting for the development of the situation, the Prime Minister said. In response to a journalist’s question, Glavchev stated that there is currently no risk of losing funds under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan.
Prime Minister Glavchev called on the politicians in Parliament to find the right tone and begin discussions that would first lead to the election of the Speaker of the National Assembly. Nobody thought that such a situation could arise – the idea was to have continuity in the work of the National Assembly, but it cannot start, Glavchev said.
Today, the Prime Minister participated in the solemn celebration of the 133rd anniversary of the founding of the Military Medical Academy (MMA). Prime Minister Glavchev extended his congratulations to the hospital’s team. We are all respected by your professionalism and exceptional qualifications, the Prime Minister said. Glavchev added that next year’s budget provides the funds needed to purchase the special medical robot for the needs of the MMA.
