Experts say that a third wave of COVID-19 is awaiting us. The mathematician of the National Operational Headquarters, Professor Nikolay Vitanov, commented that next week we will approach 1,500 cases a day. According to him, if timely measures are not taken, the numbers will continue to grow. The mathematician explained to “NOVA”:
„At one point, the spread of the virus became predominantly diffuse. And then the problems start.“
Professor Vitanov clarified that so far we are at the value of 1.12, but if we pass above 1.30, then we will reach critical values. After that, the cases of those infected with COVID-19 will increase rapidly. He recalled how the infected suddenly rose in October.
The mathematician explained that our country reached the developed turbulence in November. It was over 2,000 people a day. This option has two stages. The first is up to 5,000 per day, and the other is above this value. He gave an example with the high values from yesterday in Kyustendil, and today in Pazardzhik. Vitanov was adamant:
„Mortality in Bulgaria is a problem because the people are sick. There is a slight and slow reduction in the number of victims of the virus, but this is happening slowly.“
