President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Rumen Radev of the Armed Forces Rumen Radev met today with the first Bulgarian pilots who are going to be trained to master the F-16 BLOCK 70 multi-role fighter in the United States.
The event took place at 2 Dondukov Boulevard. During it, Radev said that the native aviation had long needed a new fighter with modern defense capabilities.
He noted that the upcoming training is a serious investment by the Bulgarian state, great recognition, but also a huge responsibility for the young pilots. They will be expected not only to master the new equipment, but also to contribute to the modern development of the Bulgarian Air Force.
The President wished success to Major Stoyan Petkov, Captain Alexander Velinov, Captain Todor Todorov and Senior Lieutenant Simeon Georgiev. The Commander of the Air Force, Major General Tsanko Stoykov, also took part in the meeting.
