Scandalous facts about the way of buying votes in Bulgaria were presented by the acting Minister of Interior Boyko Rashkov. He announced that Bulgarians are selling their vote for bread, lentils and firewood.

Rashkov was adamant that nothing had been done in recent years to counter the vote trade. And it has developed undisturbed.

The merchants themselves used different approaches. In addition to goods and money – 30, 40, 50 levs, sometimes even a little more. The Minister was adamant that the target is the poor people, because it is they who can agree to sell their vote for bread. Thus, poverty in our country is practically used for political purposes.

Rashkov is of the opinion that the Ministry of Interior in our country has deliberately closed its eyes because the former ministers are candidates for deputies from a certain political force.

The caretaker Minister of the Interior made another revelation, namely that a former Speaker of the National Assembly had threatened the Interior Ministry chief with dismissal for actions against vote buying. This was done by calling on the phone. Rashkov said he had the number from which the call was made.
