Receipts from the machine vote were found in the home of a candidate. He ran in the National Assembly elections on November 14. This was revealed at a briefing by the acting Minister of Interior Boyko Rashkov.
The candidate is from Sofia region. Rashkov said he had not investigated whether he had been elected to the 47th parliament.
The police acted on a signal and made an inspection. A number of traces such as money, lists and control coupons from the machine were found in his home. The aim was to prove that the one who voted really released the ballot for the Movement for Rights and Freedoms.
Thus, the Ministry of Interior has practically established that money is given not only before the elections, but also after them. This is exactly the case. But the interior minister emphasized that he was not the only one.
All this happens when the elections have already passed and proof must be provided that the person voted in a specific way in order to receive the promised BGN 50. In this way, there is an opportunity for the nominated candidate to receive it through the document from the machine, which is given to a member of an election commission, and thus it is checked how the vote trading took place – whether the one who was paid really voted on the definite way.
Rashkov said these morals in the 21st century are particularly characteristic of some parties that have done so in the past and unfortunately have won in the recent past and now continue to do so. But he stressed that Bulgarian citizens must ask themselves where these parties find this large financial resource to spend money on elections in this way.
