The online reservation platform „Rediscover Bulgaria“ will offer the best possible offer for a restaurant or a hotel holiday, assured the initiators of the idea and the line ministers during a briefing at the Council of Ministers.
The platform will start operating in early June, when summer tourism in the country will officially start. Its goal is to support small and medium-sized businesses in Bulgaria, Bulgarian producers, hotels and restaurants, said Philip Anastasiou, director of Human Resources and a member of the board of directors of a large retail chain in Bulgaria – the initiator of the project.
„In the system, all hotels and restaurants will be able to publish their offers for consumers in Bulgaria for summer vacation: room, accommodation, restaurant reservations. It will start together with the beginning of the tourist season this year. The idea is to encourage domestic tourism in this situation.“
The platform will give the best possible offer for a summer vacation and a reservation in a restaurant, stressed Anastasiou. According to him, he will ask their partners to ensure that the hygiene and safety measures, which are currently being developed, are observed.
Georgi Garnevski is among the project leaders. He also pointed out that the purpose of the platform is to make a safe tourist product for both Bulgarians and foreigners. According to him, users who book through the platform can be sure that they are going to a clean place from a hygienic point of view, where their social distance is guaranteed. The second point of the project includes offering Bulgarian food – morning, noon and evening.
The Minister of Economy Emil Karanikolov stated that this year, in the conditions of the pandemic, he will rely mostly on domestic tourism. According to him, the goal of the state is to have no intercompany indebtedness, which can be guaranteed through an insurance policy.
„With the product we will offer Bulgarian foods and recipes. There is already a recipe with Bulgarian food. Business and the state have responded, and the goal is to win the consumer the most, but also to help the sectors with extreme difficulty.“
The Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova added that the platform is a way for the state and business to unite their efforts to support Bulgarian tourism. She announced that offers have been received on 15 beaches for concessionaires to offer free umbrellas and sunbeds.
„I believe that most of the sector will benefit from the Rediscover Bulgaria platform, because it is designed entirely to support Bulgarian tourism – both businesses and consumers.“
The Minister of Agriculture Desislava Taneva also stated that she hopes to see in the platform the best hotels that offer a traditional Bulgarian menu. She specified that the control will be carried out by the BFSA.
“To be offered as a Bulgarian standard on our Black Sea coast for our and foreign tourists. I will be happy to see in this platform the best Bulgarian hotels, which will be committed to comply with the high health standard that will be offered to them by this platform. To observe and offer Bulgarian menu and food traditionally, as has always been the case in our country.”
