Restaurant keepers protested in Stara Zagora. The demonstration was organized by the Society of Restaurants in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Association of Restaurants. The protest is called „No More Lockdown!“.

Dissatisfied people came out to express their strong position against the new restrictive measures in front of the District Administration at exactly 4 p.m. They do not agree with the imposed evening time. In addition, they consider that the measures contradict the „Green Certificate“ rule. The organizations also see the existence of discrimination against the industry in what is happening in different areas of the country.

The restaurant keepers are adamant that the coronavirus does not spread after 10 p.m., as the government is trying to convince us. Besides, these measures doom them to bankruptcy, so they insist that the text in question be dropped from the issued order. Today’s protest is the first warning to the institutions in the country that this time the industry will definitely not comply with the restrictions imposed by them.

Meanwhile, earlier today the Confederation of Bulgarian Tourism Business (CBTB) came out with a sharp position due to the next restrictive measures that are imposed in a number of areas in the country. They emphasize that it hits mainly on tourism and restaurants.

Bulgarian tourism has gone through an extremely difficult period of almost 3 years, during which many bankruptcies occurred and many people lost their livelihoods. Due to the constant uncertainty, the industry has become extremely unattractive and there has been an outflow of over 35% of the employees in the still operating establishments, the CBTB is adamant. The confederation appealed to the government to reconsider its attitude towards Bulgarian tourism, which is a serious part of the Bulgarian economy.
