This year, on November 27, the deadline for registration of wells in private yards expires. However, we will propose that it be postponed.“ This was stated to “BNT” by the Minister of Environment and Water Emil Dimitrov and then he added:

„Those who are ready can register, but because of the coronavirus, people were not able to go to submit documents. Therefore, this period should be postponed for at least one or two years. On Thursday I will talk to the Minister of Agriculture Desislava Taneva on the issue of postponing the deadline.“

The minister explained that the registration of private wells is free. It is necessary to monitor the amount of resources used. Dimitrov continued:

„It is allowed to use up to 10 cubic meters of water per day and it is even free. However, you cannot have a free industrial activity. That is why we determine 2 stotinki per cubic meter, if you ask so much, we have no material interest. However, not everyone can drill where they come from, because there is a high probability of damaging a larger source of water supply.

Regarding the water supply of Sofia, the Minister commented:

For the next three years, Sofia has no problem with water supply. The level of Beli Iskar Dam is kept a little lower because of the water, at the moment it is repaired, we will fill it. And it is full, and Studena is full, and Dyakovo, and six more dams. Dyakovo, Studena, Iskar, Beli Iskar are the most complete dams in the country – just say and after two weeks they start to overflow. Whatever amount of water falls in the winter as rain, we will give it to farmers, give the example of Yastrebino Dam – there is 12 million water that we keep for Antonovo, and we do not give to farmers, provided that there are other options to feed the town.“

With regard to fines for air pollution, Revizoro stated:

„This year there will be cameras in many places and there will be sanctions everywhere regarding air pollution from factories in different parts of the country. When someone makes a mistake, don’t be angry with me at all. The import of illegal waste from Italy has been stopped since the beginning of the year. However, all the waste in Sofia is currently being burned in Vratsa – how can you not fail the government by going and stopping the plant in Vratsa and Sofia is filled with waste? If no one comes to clean your house, what will happen in three days – it will be littered with waste. That is the goal, Dimitrov explained. There are no culprits, and a crisis is being sought. We will export the pesticides. We will solve the problem. I don’t even want pesticides in Bulgaria.“
