Municipal councilors from the Middle European Class (SEC) and the Bulgarian Citizens’ Movement (DBG) asked the regional governor Stoyko Tankov to cancel the session held on January 25 and reschedule it.
The reason for this is the numerous failures of the electronic platform, which provides the opportunity to hold an online meeting.
On January 25, the system consistently refused, leaving many councilors unable to defend their positions on various reports or to vote. Moreover, according to a study by IMRO councilor Georgi Drakaliev, it turned out that the minutes resulted in a scandalous change in the results of the voting in at least one of the reports. It is about renting a municipal art cafe, which is located in the new cultural space on Aleko Konstantinov Street.
According to middle-class advisers, the terms of the lease favor the future tenant at the expense of all other owners of similar establishments in the area. That is why during the session Georgi Sabev, Hristina Seklemova, Kiril Nachev, Rosen Topkarov and Krassimir Kaludov voted „abstained“, but in the minutes it was reported that they voted „FOR“.
We submitted a signal with the colleagues from DBG to the district governor to inform him about the serious violations during the meeting of the municipal council. And most puzzlingly, the mistakes are entirely in favor of the importers of the reports. We dare not think what a distortion of the vote could be if the adoption of the budget goes online with the same platform. We demand that the last session be held again in order to restore justice, SEC advisers commented.
They insist that the forthcoming meetings be held in person, if necessary, again in the Boycho Branzov Sports Hall, in compliance with all necessary anti-epidemic measures for distance, protective masks and disinfection.
It seems absurd that every citizen can visit a cafe or use public transport, and councilors can not sit at a distance of two meters from each other – are categorical Georgi Sabev, Christina Seklemova, Kiril Nachev, Rosen Topkarov and Krassimir Kaludov.
We remind you that yesterday the municipal councilors from VMRO – Bulgarian National Movement Dr. Georgi Drakaliev and Nikolay Stoyanov asked the Mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov to assign an internal verification of the results of voting on all points at the last Municipal Council. In case a discrepancy is found, they insist that the points be returned for a new discussion. Drakaliev and Stoyanov expect to be informed about the findings of the inspection and how you will ensure the smooth conduct of future meetings of the Municipal Council.
