Residents of Harmanli have announced their intention to organize a protest against the presence of a refugee center in their town. They express their serious dissatisfaction with the behavior of some of the migrants.
“Local political leaders took it over from both inside and outside”, said Nikolay Georgiev, a former member of the civic initiative committee in Harmanli, underscoring the politicization of the issue and the need to find a socially acceptable solution.
The problems, according to Georgiev, include attacks and indecent gestures towards women, which he qualifies as the behavior not of refugees, but of violators of the Bulgarian border.
“These centers should be outside the cities. They should be at the very border”, he asserted, expressing public opinion on the need to relocate the refugee centers.
We remind you that in the Ovcha Kupel district of the capital, hundreds of people gathered for a protest march, expressing dissatisfaction with the daily incidents involving migrants and asking the police to take serious measures to prevent future incidents.
This wave of discontent and protests shows that the security and rights of Bulgarians are affected by the migrants. It is important to find solutions that guarantee a peaceful future in Bulgaria.
