Three signals for plagiarism in the work of Petar Iliev were submitted yesterday at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, announced the university. They were addressed to Prof. Anastas Gerdjikov.
The alerts are not anonymous, but they have explicit senders. They meet the conditions because they are interested – they are part of the academic staff of Sofia University or study at the university. Another option is to be members of editorial boards.
The university assures that these signals will be checked according to the internal rules of the university.
Petar Iliev was accused of plagiarizing part of his dissertation by Assoc. Prof. Natalia Kiselova. This happened six years ago. But then she did not accuse him in order to preserve the reputation of Sofia University.
The doubts themselves appeared in public about a week ago. At that time, the name of Petar Iliev was associated with a candidate for future prime minister from “There is such a people”. He is now nominated for Minister of Justice.
