The deputy from the parliamentary group of „BSP for Bulgaria“ Georgi Svilenski with a sharp criticism of the Minister of Defense Todor Tagarev. He declared from the parliamentary rostrum:
“Mr. President, it is not your duty, but it is good in such cases to inform the National Assembly. Now I will do it, so that the Bulgarian citizens and the media will understand what a brazen defense minister Bulgaria has. A cheeky man. This person has sent a letter to the Speaker of the Parliament and, accordingly, to us – 8 days not to deal with him in anything, not to invite him to a hearing in the National Assembly – questions, answers, parliamentary control, even though the Budget is being looked at, because notice – Mr. Tagarev is on paid annual leave.
He has a 7 day package somewhere on holiday most likely. Ask which Bulgarian citizen, dear colleagues, is entitled to 8 days of paid annual leave after one month of work. Which Bulgarian citizen in which commercial, private, state, municipal company has the right to 8 days of paid annual leave after one month of work in the situation that the Declaration, which the colleagues from „Continuing the Change“ said and resented, threatens the national security of Bulgaria, our defense minister, see:
„Do not look for me. I am on paid annual leave.’
Insolence, insolence and attitude towards the Bulgarian citizens, towards the people’s representatives and towards you, Mr. Speaker, because if I were you, I would call on the Prime Minister to immediately terminate his paid annual leave of 8 days. He probably paid for some vacation package. By the way, journalists can ask where Mr. Tagarev is from the 20th to the 28th.“
He was joined by his colleague Hristo Prodanov, who expressed his disagreement: „Mr. Svilensky, last week they voted to send armored personnel carriers to Ukraine. He may have left to drive them to Ukraine. He can take them away in 8 days. What about the leave – he’s not going to break even on the salary and wages he’s getting, so don’t be so critical. You know that he and the ruling majority here are ambassadors of Ukraine.”
