The expert opinion on the explosion near the car of former Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev is ready. This was announced by the deputy city prosecutor and spokesman Hristo Krastev. On 8 December, the appointed complex chemical and explosive technical expertise was prepared. It was prepared by 6 experts. Experimental explosions were conducted, numerous tests were carried out.

“The conclusion was that the explosive was a briquetted nitropenta explosive which was contained in an improvised explosive device prepared to be electrically triggered. From the size of the epicentre of the blast and the striking action of the pellets, it is established that the mass of the explosive is most likely around 2.5 kg”, Krastev explained.

Further expertise will establish the intensity and method of damage of the improvised explosive device.

“At the moment, there is no person suspected both as the perpetrator of the explosion and as the orderer”, the deputy city prosecutor said. Every possible version is being worked on in this pre-trial proceeding, and the version of staging has not been ruled out.
