There is a conceptual solution for the route of the Southern detour of the residential complex. Based on which a public tender for engineering, design and construction has been announced. It was announced on 20 June and the deadline for submitting documents under it is 5 August.
This was stated by Burgas Municipality to Iskra.bg in connection with the important infrastructure project, which is expected to unblock traffic in the largest Burgas complex. The topic became topical again after the Municipal Council of Burgas yesterday gave the green light for the construction of a roundabout on Zahari Stoyanov Boulevard at the junction to the Gorno Ezerovo district. Its purpose is also to regulate the optimised car traffic at one of the busiest points, located at the entrance to „Meden Rudnik“.
In recent months, several indicative renderings of the Southern Detour, which will connect the complex with the road to Sozopol, have appeared in the public domain. They show that the route will pass over the water, which has puzzled many citizens who have expressed concern that this makes the project more expensive and difficult to implement. The Municipality of Burgas commented on the issue as follows:
“At the stage of feasibility studies various options were considered, of which the current option was preferred as the most feasible in economic and communication-transport terms.”
At the last meeting of the Spatial Planning Committee, the Deputy Mayor for Construction, Investment and Regional Development, Eng. Chanka Koralska said that the construction of the Southern Detour is expected to last about three years. An advertised contract indicates that the contractor will be given 100 calendar days for design and no more than 700 days for construction.
The total estimated cost for the subject of the tender is BGN 140 250 000. Of this, more than 136 million leva are for the construction of the route, about 3 million leva are provided for its design, and half a million will be allocated for author’s supervision. The financing of the public procurement was not secured at the time of opening the procedure.
