The employees in the Burgas Regional Administration express their readiness for indefinite protest actions because of the Decree of the Council of Ministers of April 3 in connection with an increase in wages. According to those employed in the sector, it is insulting and inadequate, as the planned increase does not compensate for the historically accumulated disparity compared to other administrations.

According to official data of the Council of Ministers for all 28 regional administrations in the country, Burgas is in 25th place in terms of the average gross salary. After Burgas, there are only Montana, Sliven and Lovech. After the planned increase, the average gross salary should be a little over BGN 1,300 net.

The regional governor Plamen Yanev supported the employees who have sent their requests to the Council of Ministers, as the regional administrations are a secondary allocator of budget funds to the Council of Ministers. In addition, the officials will also seek support from the representatives of the 49th National Assembly from MIR 2 for changes in the Law on the Settlement of Collective Labor Disputes (ZUKTS).

If no agreement is reached, administration officials will take indefinite effective protest action. Some of them include the suspension of the organizational and technical preparation for the upcoming elections for representatives of the National Assembly and for members of the European Parliament, as well as the suspension of the work process for serving citizens and registering documents, as well as any accompanying activity

The labor and service employees in Burgas express their support for the demands and announced strike intentions of their colleagues from the District Administration of the Sofia Region.
