The Healthcare Committee in the National Assembly will consider the BSP’s proposal for the „Sputnik“ vaccine, produced in Russia, the BSP MP and doctor Prof. Georgi Mihaylov announced on „NOVA“.
We remind you that yesterday the BSP asked the government to negotiate with Russia for the purchase of quantities of the „Sputnik“ vaccine. However, GERB accused the BSP of lobbying, incompetence and sabotage. Political skirmishes between parties are commonplace, and the topic of the COVID crisis and pandemic is major election rhetoric.
Prof. Mihailov cited the claims of the manufacturers of vaccines „AstraZenenca“ and „Pfizer“ that the production of the preparation is a complex process. According to him, the proposal is quite real and revealed that as a member of the Health Commission he received an email stating that they would gather on Thursday to discuss this issue.
Serbia, where the vaccination is carried out with the Russian vaccine, ranks second in the number of people vaccinated per 100 people in Europe. According to Prof. Mihaylov, for comparison our country is in the penultimate places.
„Under emergency legislation, any country may enter into a vaccine supply contract with a third country. We see that due to difficult production conditions, many companies refuse to supply certain doses. When it comes to human health, there are no opponents, the qualities of the Russian vaccine are appreciated by prestigious medical publications.“
