Over 2 million and 90 thousand pensioners will receive an increase in the amount of their retired pay and/or supplements. This will happen on July 1 this year, the National
Social Security Institute (NSSI) announced.
The new minimum amount of the basic retired pay for length of service and age becomes BGN 250. The increase will also cover other types of pensions for employment, which are equated to the minimum amount for the respective type of remuneration. The maximum amount is kept at BGN 1,200 and does not include the supplements to it.
The amount of non-employment pensions is determined by that of the old-age social pension. From tomorrow it has been increased to BGN 141.63, so far it has been BGN 132.74. This happened with a Decree of the Council of Ministers of May 28 this year.
The average amount of pensions per person is expected to exceed BGN 415 in this calendar year. Retirees will be able to take their benefits for next month from July 7th to 20th.
The payment will be in accordance with the prepared schedule of the post offices. Bank transfers will be made on the first announced day.
