The National Audit Office will inspect the Ministry of Youth and Sports. This was announced at a briefing by the caretaker Minister Andrey Kuzmanov. The inspection is expected to begin today or tomorrow.
Yesterday a letter was received from the National Audit Office, it became clear from the words of the Minister. He also announced that on July 6, the final version of the Strategy for Youth until 2030 was submitted to the Council of Ministers.
As for the inspections in the Ministry of Sports, he said that the subject of analysis are public procurements for gyms. The government has allocated BGN 25 million for the construction and reconstruction of such facilities. It was found that the same people appear in the companies that have won orders in different cities of the country for different salons.
The contracts were signed in December 2020 and they stipulated that a gradual payment would be made. But instead, the amounts were transferred in advance at 100%. In addition, the contracts themselves were not insured. On the day they were signed, an annex was added to them, to which the insurance policy was not attached.
This practically means that the state will lose because there is no way to get the funds from the insurance company. Kuzmanov described what was happening as „brutal“.
