The National Security Service (NSS) convened a commission on Monday (July 13th) to assess the need for security for Delyan Peevski and Ahmed Dogan. The news in the bulgarian newspaper “24 hours” appeared a day after President Rumen Radev said that men from the service had participated in the disputes at Rosenets Park.

Then the head of state explained that for years he had wanted Delyan Peevski and Ahmed Dogan not to be guarded by the officers from the National Security Service but whether anyone needed protection depended on the wards of the State agency for National Security (SANS) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The letters for Monday’s meeting have just arrived in both departments. The commission included the heads of SANS and NSS, as well as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior.

Radev had announced that the commission would meet today, after being promised by the head of the NSS, Gen. Krasimir Stanchev. In accordance with the obligatory procedure for convening this commission, according to which the opinions of other services were requested, its holding had to be scheduled for 10:00 next Monday.
