The life sentence of Stanimir Ragevsky for the murders of Teodora Bakhlova and Yumer Mehmed was defined as a real success by the Prosecutor’s Office and the lawyer of the victims’ relatives. Ragevsky himself left the courtroom, remaining completely silent.
Prosecutor Desislava Trifonova described Ragevsky as „a very bad and dangerous person“ and expressed hope that the victims’ relatives will finally be able to get some peace.
„By sentencing him to life in prison without parole, we have effectively forever taken away the defendant’s ability to harm anyone in any way, which makes me personally very pleased.“
She added that the case with its specifics has no analogue, not only in the District Prosecutor’s Office-Burgas, but also in the whole country. According to her, it rarely happens that someone kills two people who are close friends in a similar way. Ragevsky’s handling of the victims’ remains is also specific, which Trifonova described as „an outrageous manner with a lack of humanity.“
Lawyer Valchev, who is the lawyer of the murdered Teodora’s daughter, stated that the verdict was definitely satisfactory.
„Actually, the pain that the relatives are still experiencing and will carry in their hearts for the rest of their lives cannot be repaid, but this is the most adequate thing we owe to society. The least we can do is isolate the defendant Ragevsky from re-entering society for the rest of his life.“
He recalled that Stanimir Ragevsky remained silent during the trial, and at the end he hinted that he had nothing to do with the crimes, which was firmly refuted by the evidence.
