“So far we have 6 people detained. Two are wanted. They appeared at the checkpoints, presented identity documents and 3 persons with prohibited items. According to the law, they cannot go inside, but have refused to leave them. For the time being, they have been taken to the district administration and their involvement in their possible manifestations from September 2 will be checked.”
This was reported by the Deputy Chief of the Security Police Toni Todorov during a briefing of the Interior Ministry. He declined to answer a journalist’s question as to why on September 2 they allowed some of the protesting citizens to fire at various police officers with various objects for an hour and a half. According to him, however, the goal today was to avoid such actions.
Todorov recalled that in the morning they made a thorough inspection of the city garden and all vulnerable places in the area. According to him, some of the found objects were left there from the previous night and were not for the purpose of provocation, but there were also hidden ones that aroused concern.
“What is worrying is that a 10-liter tube of colored liquid was found hidden in a bush, carefully hidden. And 9 half-liter plastic bottles also with some colored liquid, two knives, sticks of two meters, wooden sticks. Some bad people want something bad to happen tonight.”
Authorities are currently inspecting security cameras in the area to determine when and who hid the items. Todorov pointed out that they expected everything to happen tonight, they were prepared, but so far they have not received a signal for provocations.
“No one is happy with what happened on the evening of September 2. We are trying to prevent it”, he urged.
Meanwhile, the „Poison Trio“ shared these photos on Facebook with a comment:
“This is not a joke: Detention in 1 RU – SDVR up to 24 hours! A “heavily armed” man captured at the protest. The weapons are shown in the photos… Adv. Polina Velcheva is with him at the moment. “The Mafia, which has been demanding their resignation for 64 days.”
