The tourist trips of Bulgarians to Greece will start on June 15. From June 1, business trips will be allowed. The entrants will not be quarantined, as an agreement was reached yesterday between the heads of state of the Balkan countries. This was announced by the Minister of Transport Rosen Zhelyazkov. He explained that Athens had been asked to open the borders more gradually.
At the same time, Bulgarians will be able to go to Serbia for quarantine tourism as of June 1st. Romania’s decision on the matter is pending. It must be taken by parliament in Bucharest.
The reason for the agreement reached yesterday between the four countries is that they have a low incidence of COVID-19.
Such talks have not yet taken place with Turkey, because the situation with the spread of the coronavirus there is more serious.
The declarations that will be filled in at the border will not create an obstacle. The aim is for people to indicate that they are aware of the risk they take when entering the country. If they travel by plane, the declarations will be distributed on board. The form will be the same for each country.
As for the Bulgarians from the Western suburbs, they will be able to enter our country quite freely, without being quarantined.
Zhelyazkov also commented on the protest of the carriers, saying that some of the demands have already been met. And he gave an example with low-interest loans and those for working capital. Zhelyazkov however stressed that experts predict that the economy will change, which is particularly true for transportation.
