For the sixth year in a row, the traditional „Bulgarian Parade“ will be held on our national holiday – March 3, in Burgas. Its initiators and organizers are the Karashevi family headed by Plamen Karashev, who is behind the patriotic idea. Partners are again from the New Race MCC motorcycle club.
The honorary president of New Race MCC Atanas Kirov explained to Iskra.bg that the motorcyclists who will participate in the „Bulgarian procession“ will gather at 08:30 on March 3 in front of the „Avto Karashev“ service center at 79 „Krayezerna“ street The rest of the participants in the patriotic initiative will be at the Sea Station at 09:00. Bikers will join them.
„We can boldly say that there is a time and place during the year when the modern world and our modern city intertwine with our past, it is called the March 3rd Bulgarian March,“ wrote the organizers of the event on the social network Facebook.
The „Bulgarian Procession“ honors the memory of the victims of the so-called Second Batashka massacre in our country. Days before the signing of the San Stefano Peace Treaty, Bashibozuk headed for present-day Bulgarovo. For two days, 400 people were locked in the Christian church „Saint Athanasius“ to hide from their attackers. But still they fail to save themselves. They were killed by the Turks in a cruel way. They have not spared even the children and infants.
Thus, every year with the „Bulgarian Procession“ people bow their heads before the victims of this brutality. These are people who died for the Liberation of Bulgaria and their memory must be preserved and honored.
This year, all motorcycle clubs from Burgas will participate in the patriotic initiative. Atanas Kirov emphasized that bikers must show iron discipline. In the program of the procession itself at the Sea Station, it is planned to again have children, as well as performers from a music and dance group. The traditional Bulgarian bagpipes will also be played, after which the participants in the „Bulgarian Procession“ will head to the „St. Athanasius“ Church in Bulgarovo. There they will pay tribute to the 400 people who died in the Second Batas massacre.
Riders will line up in the center before entering the stadium. The roar of motorbikes will be heard there, which lasts for about 30-40 seconds, and in this way they will pay tribute to the memory of those who died tragically, explained Atanas Kirov. The rest of the time they move under strict organization.
The new thing this year is that the opening of a monument is being prepared, which is being built entirely with funds from donations from ordinary citizens. He will be in front of the church in Bulgarovo and with him he will pay tribute to the memory of the dead. Its construction started at the end of 2022 and the monument is expected to be opened soon.
