The new proven cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria for the last 24 hours are 53, with 25 of them being hospitalized. This was reported by the Chief of the National Operational Headquarters – Major-General Ventsislav Mutafchiyski. According to him, 1163 samples were tested during this period, with a total number of 52,931 persons tested, making 7562 per 1 million population.
There are 19 cases in Sofia, and 12 of which are of patients from social services facilities. There are 12 people in Yambol, Pazardzhik, and Pleven – 5, Pernik – 4, Burgas – 3, Blagoevgrad and Vratsa – 2, Kyustendil – 1.
A new case of an infected doctor has been reported – a nurse from Pirogov Emergency Hospital. Their total number of infected medical professionals is now 192.
There are new more 24 cases of successfully recovered patients. Their total number is now 384.
There are two new deaths for the last 24 hours, the total number being 84. The first one is a 67-year-old man in the Veliko Tarnovo hospital suffering from concomitant diseases – diabetes and bladder cancer. The second one is 70-year-old man from the Yambol hospital suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
The patients with proven COVID-19 who are hospitalized are 353. 38 of them are being treated in intensive care units.
