The proven cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria are now 1990. This is shown by the latest data of the National Operational Headquarters at 5 pm o’clock on May 11. 9 more new cases have been proven today in the following regions: one in Smolyan and eight in Sofia.
A total of 93 people have died from proven COVID-19. A 78-year-old man from the nursing home based in the town of Kula died at „St. Anna “ University Multiprofile Hospital. The patient had suffered from dementia and hypertension. A 53-year-old man suffering from bilateral pneumonia died too at the District hospital in Yambol.
The patients with proven COVID-19 who are hospitalized are 368. 50 of them are being treated in intensive care units and clinics.
The medical professionals with confirmed coronavirus infection are 214, accounting for 11% of all identified cases of COVID-19.
In terms of the overall picture: 966 of the registered cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria are of men, and 1024 of women. The average age of the people diagnosed with coronavirus infection is 50 years.
