What difficulties will school principals face in testing students? This issue became extremely relevant after the order issued yesterday by caretaker Minister of Health Dr. Stoycho Katsarov. It provides for children to be tested twice a week from next Monday.

The principal of the 119th school in Sofia, Diyan Stamatov, pointed out that testing would not be done with lollipops, but with pipettes and a spitting funnel. According to him, they were very small and all this would require more time and more resources from people to take material for testing.

As Iskra.bg already informed you, this kind of testing will be for children from 1st to 4th grade and the tests were suitable for children 16-17 years old. According to Stamatov, the principals were not prepared for this process. Their expectation was that lollipops would be used and that children would approach them as a game, not that everything would be so complicated.

The test itself would have taken 10-20 minutes. According to Stamatov, if a child in first grade does it, there should be 2 people next to them. Thus, a test would take one hour respectively.

After the testing the class have to go outside and the room have to be cleaned. And if it turns out that there is a positive student, it means a large group of children that should be taken by their parents.

For Stamatov, all this was a reproach to the Minister of Health, because he did not take all this into account. He also expressed concern that in a week or two tests may no longer be available because the public procurement is for 400,000 units.
