At around 05:00. a.m. this morning, journalist Hristo Geshov from Cherven Bryag found his car parked in front of his house on fire. The expertise made by the competent authorities confirmed his version that the arson was intentional, and the reason, Geshov is sure, is due to his active work as an investigative reporter.
From Iskra.bg we called the journalist to hear his version of what happened.
„This is another attack on me, my property and freedom of speech.“, Geshov said. He believes that the crime aims to „intimidate“ him and „make him silent“.
According to the journalist, a particular party is responsible for the incident, as he admits that it is possible that the former mayor of the town Danail Valov, with whom a lawsuit in favor of Geshov was recently concluded, is also involved in the fire. The reporter does not fail to add another important detail, namely:
„If you check the bulletin of the Ministry of Interior for Cherven Bryag, you can find out about a lot of arsons before important events such as what is coming in April. See – 2015, 2019 for example. See how, at the local level, various political structures are clearing accounts with former members of a particular party of which I am not a member, but I am clearly an obstacle in another form.“
