Bulgaria has enough financial resources, but they are not allocated properly. This opinion was shared by Vice President Iliana Yotova and members of the Association of Private Entrepreneurs and Employers in Pazardzhik, the spokesmen of Dondukov 2 reported.
„We have the funds, but we are not able to turn them around in the economy so that they create added value. Our national wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few.“ Yotova said. She gave the example of the recent revelations in the Bulgarian Development Bank.
The Vice President pointed to the frequent legislative changes, which do not improve the quality of the legislation, and the lack of impact assessment as a major obstacle for both Bulgarian business and foreign investors.
„Lobbying and corruption are enshrined in the legislation.“, Yotova said.
She singled out the huge regional imbalances as key problems for Bulgaria.
„The main financial resources of the state are concentrated in a few big cities and two realities are taking shape in the country – the reality of development and the reality of the lack of prospects.„, Iliana Yotova said and pointed out that Bulgaria is last in the negative rankings in the European Union with the highest number of working poor and young people who neither study nor work.
The Vice President expressed confidence that the Recovery and Sustainability Plan would change the flawed philosophy of absorption of EU funds.
„I believe that the projects included in the plan will succeed in creating sustainable development.“ Yotova said.
